What is BERA Waterfix® Ball?
BERA Waterfix® Ball is referring to the ancient way of infiltration of excess water, digging a hole and fill it up with pebbles/ stones. This method worked but the stones take 70% of the space, where Waterfix Ball is 95% void space. Disconnecting the rainwater coming from the roof or hard paved areas in the garden leading the rainwater to the pit with WaterFix Ball inside, will help the environment and municipality to reduce or prevent floodings.
It also helps to keep healthy water table in the lower layers of the soil for more moisture during dry periods, thus enhancing the greens in gardens and urban spaces.
Unlike infiltration boxes, BERA Waterfix® Ball provides fully free shaping of an infiltration space. Restrictions by the water table, rocky sublayers, or other obstacles the space can be created to the opportunities given in the garden. Alongside the perimeter of the terrace, at the back of the garden – anywhere where possible install a (DuPont Typar) polypropylene geotextile, insert the balls, close the pit, and use a backfill of soil.
Easy, economic, and fast
To benefit from lowest possible logistic cost the balls come as ‘halves’ in a box (see technical specifications). This means that you can double the infiltration capacity compared to material shipped to the project. One pallet of 1m3 is converted into a 2m3 of infiltration by assembly of the balls. Roughly 192 balls represent 1m3 of infiltration or retention (using a liner instead of geo-textile).
